It’s funny how I discovered this song. I was looking for Bob Dylan, in particular his album blonde on blonde. However, as you can imagine this song by Nada Surf came up I didn’t pay attention and I just played I was pleasantly surprised by how chill the vibe was. It was a great tribute to Dylan.

Joni Mitchell wrote it when she was still in Paris regretting not being able to be a part of Woodstock 69. And then she performed in Monterey Pop festival later in 1970.

reminds me of my college days, especially annual fests with my buddies

Leaving home after high school for my undergrad was very hard for me - who hasn’t left his home without his parents, who did not hang out with many friends and who didn’t know any life skills. But I had to get out there, to be curious and see what somewhere else looks like. I won’t say I was dissatisfied with what I had, but I wanted to see what was out there and the only way to do is just to get out of here.

“Back in 2010, when I drifted from drum and bass towards more mainstream EDM such as Avicii, this song dropped on my radar. The lyrics goes: "A silent heart ticking under the ground. Taking the weight from which has yet to be found. If you can hear me now why don't you recall. I was the one who loved you after all"

Listened to this song a lot in the past, but heard the band play it at LIB this year, and it changed my perspective. Love the chord changes and the arrangement, it is really nice to listen to.
